Support the club

Contribute to the club.

Swyncombe CC is run entirely by volunteers, powered mainly by tea, and every pound stays at the club. Match fees and subs only stretch so far. Here’s exactly what your money buys, and what you get back (spoiler: possibly dinner).

£15

A match ball

One brand-new cherry, ready for six months of Sunday punishment. Statistically it will be in a hedge by August, cheered on the way in. Your ball. Your hedge. Immortality.

Teas for one game

Sandwiches, cake and a proper pot of tea for both sides: twenty-two cricketers fed for about £2 a head. Visiting teams have been known to lose graciously just to be invited back for the teas.

£100

£100, no strings

A straight £100 into the coffers: a whole month of Clive’s square. You get nothing in return except our undying gratitude and a warm glow. For saints and the extremely modest.

Become a Vice President

The exact same £100, plus a free invitation to the end-of-season dinner at The Highwayman in Checkendon, a free ticket to the summer BBQ, and a title you may deploy at dinner parties without further explanation. Same gift to the club. Considerably more in it for you. We know which one we’d pick.

Give £100 and become a VP

Any amount welcome: you type the figure on the payment page, so nothing is stopping you rounding up. Card, securely through SumUp, in less time than a maiden over. £100 or more makes you a Vice President: dinner at The Highwayman and the summer BBQ are on us. Or name your own amount ↗

For local businesses

Become a corporate sponsor. £400 for the season.

Put your business on the Swyncombe shirt for the whole 2026 season: 21 fixtures, once a week from May to the end of September, home and away through some of the loveliest villages in the country: Turville, Hambleden, Stonor, Nettlebed, Watlington and beyond. Village greens, pub gardens and boundary edges full of exactly the locals you'd like to reach, for less than the price of a single newspaper ad, at under £20 a fixture.

Sponsors are thanked on the website and at the end-of-season dinner too. Space on a shirt is finite, so it's first come, first sewn.

Why it matters

The ground gives. The ground also invoices.

Anyone can watch a match at Cookley Green for nothing: bring a chair, a dog and a flask, and the afternoon is yours. That’s been the arrangement for nearly a century, and it survives on one technicality: people who love the place chipping in. The mower does not accept applause. A contribution today is a free Sunday like that for someone next season.

Other ways to help

Skint? You can still be a hero.

Buy the club merch and wear us about the place. Score, umpire, or help Clive with the ground. Or simply come and play: a village club's real currency is people on a Sunday.

A cake

The bake-a-cake pledge

Perfect to practise your baking on some very willing recipients. Pledge a cake for a home Sunday and twenty-two grateful cricketers will make it disappear. Rave reviews guaranteed.

Pledge a cake, become a legend

The small print: Vice Presidency confers status, dinner and a BBQ ticket, but no say over the batting order. Cakes are judged only by how fast they vanish. All donations are final, like most of our LBW decisions.
